Kitamura Camera debuts in ShinjukuWith a new exciting photography experience

Scroll down.

The history of the camera began with an optical device called the camera obscura; consisting of a dark chamber with a pinhole lens for projection. The device, initially developed for drawing more precise images, was a machine that recorded transient passing moments and expressed the diverse sensibilities of individual users.

Today, we take cameras wherever we go. Photography is everywhere and has become part of our daily lives. This is why we want to take cameras and photography more seriously than ever. We want to help you capture and preserve the magnificent view in front of you, the image that has come to mind, that precious moment you share with someone you cherish.

For all of those who love cameras and photography.

Kitamura Camera was founded as Kitamura Camera Shop in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, 87 years ago. This year, we are opening a new flagship store in Shinjuku, the camera capital of the world. Our new shop provides a uniquely exciting photography experience, delivered on a scale never before seen.
